23Jun Samsung’s i900 Omnia, look the beauty on WM6.1
Samsung has finally releasead the i900 Omnia. This Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional phone comes packed with MS Office. It features quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE support, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, a built-in accelerometer, WiFi module, USB port, FM tuner, Bluetooth, 3.2-inch WQVGA full touch screen with 400 x 240 resolution display and a 5-megapixel CMOS camera with auto-focus, face and smile detection, geotagging and auto-panorama shot. Both the 8GB and 16GB version will soon be available, and will feature Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface loaded on. The touch-sensitive screen uses intuitive tap, sweep, drag and drop operations plus has an on-screen QWERTY keyboard.
The full opera browser should look quite nice on the Omnia’s 400×200 pixel widescreen, and the 5MP autofocus camera supports features like image stabilization and Samsung’s wide dynamic range. We’re still missing specs on weight and battery life, but most of the details have been filled in at this point.

The name is PopChar X, the little utility that gets all of those funky symbols, accents, and other special characters into your documents without having to remember arcane key codes, has been updated to version 4 for Mac.
PopChar has been around for over 20 years and is a favorite of editors and designers. To type a special character, you click on a P in the menu bar and a list of characters appears. Selecting the character you want drops it into your current document. Sure, you could always use Apple’s Character Palette tool, but it’s slow, and difficult to search for a special character in a particular font.
PopChar X 4.0 adds a new feature for searching Unicode characters by name across font boundaries. Ergonis, developer of PopChar, provides an example of searching for a “cubic meters” symbol in Helvetica. Typing in “cub” produces no results, but you can click a new “All” button to search across all Unicode fonts.
